CORNERSTONE
PROJECTS

Have our team work on the foundational projects that make donors your biggest fans.

“When you work on a sensitive project, you want to do it right. We needed someone really good – and that’s how we got to Shterna.

She and her team were phenomenal. We felt like we were dealing with someone who knew what she was doing. Even our – often critical – team was on board because she took the time to explain the process and they could see they were working with someone who understands nonprofits, marketing, and writing. We were initially hesitant about the cost of working with a copywriter on her level, but looking back, we have zero regrets. It was worth it because when you work with Shterna, you know you’re getting quality.”

– Mrs. Chanie Hertzel, JOS

What is included in every project?

It’s not just the copy. For any email-related projects, we’ll take care of segmentation, triggers, opt-outs, basic design, and A/B testing. We also meticulously track the data of every single digital project so we learn what works best for your organization and can optimize in real time.

For any print or non-digital campaigns, we don’t do design in-house. Instead, we collaborate with the designer and/or developer of your choice. And, we stay involved until it goes live so you know we’re always an email away.

We want to work with you on more than one project.

If that’s the case, check out our Unlimited Marketing packages. You’ll be working with the same team, utilizing the same strategy and experience, with the added benefit of a long-term relationship.

What is the price range and turnaround time for cornerstone projects?

The turnaround time for each project depends on when we can begin and the project's complexity.

The soonest start date is usually 3-6 weeks away.

  • Ex: pitch decks, solicitations, service guides, annual reports, etc.

    Timeline: 4-6 weeks
    Price range: $6,000-10,000+

Rush timelines are occasionally an option for super time-sensitive projects.

  • Ex: year-end campaign, website, etc.

    Timeline: 6-12 weeks
    Price range: $8,000-15,000+

Rush timelines are occasionally an option for super time-sensitive projects.

What’s your process?

Strategy first, sentences second. No two nonprofits are the same, so every project needs to be uniquely suited to your specific values, mission, and goals.

That’s why every project starts with a robust discovery process.

The discovery process involves the following:

  • Discovery questionnaire (for your team) and follow-up discovery session

  • Data mining of any provided materials such as past feedback and services

  • Donor survey

  • Beneficiary survey

  • Compilation of responses of surveys, turned into smooth testimonials, when relevant

  • Competitive analysis of nonprofits sharing a similar donor pool

At the end of the discovery, we create a strategy based on everything we’ve learned, and you’ll get the following:

  1. Messaging strategy guide – includes breakdown of donor drivers, hesitations, key services, and messaging pillars)

  2. Marketing strategy – new ideas to try, areas for optimization, and a plan for what to prioritize moving forward

We then get started on the best part: creating that stunning centerpiece project.

“I hired Shterna because I wanted a skilled copywriter who would (a) write great copy (b) make my life easier — and from past interactions, I was confident she would deliver on both counts.

Surprise! She did. What's more, I discovered that Shterna is an astute strategist: she brings creative thinking and insightful perspective to every project and initiative. Hire her. She's a star.”

– Michal Eisik, CopyTribe founder

“I’m a writer myself, so I was in a unique situation. I wasn’t looking for just a writer for our fundraising campaign. I needed someone who could put together the narrative and find the unique angles. I needed someone to pick my brain, get all the good stuff, then give it back to me as fundraising materials that were organized and effective – to create the strategy and conceptualize for me. Shterna came highly recommended by people I knew. I warned her when we started that I didn’t want to feel stupid for spending so much money. But our campaign was successful so I ended up feeling smart – it was a good idea to use her.”
